Bushnell Laser Rangefinder - The Easiest Way to Improve Your Golf Game by 5 Strokes Fast!

No matter what anybody tells you there are ways to cut strokes from your golf game and you do not have to spend your life savings to do so. It is not always just about improving you golf swing, your course management, and your short game, however these are very important parts of the game. Sometimes it can be as easy as knowing an accurate yardage from any place on the course. Using a Bushnell laser rangefinder can help you to know the exact yardage to the pin and this will give you a lot of confidence in the shot you select to play into the hole.

When you know exactly how many yards to need to hit the golf ball you are giving yourself a better chance to get the ball not only on the green, but also closer to the hole. If you go out and you use your new yardage device every time you play before you know it you will know exactly how far you hit your clubs with full swings and with partial swings. This will help you to set up a system that takes out the guesswork with approach shots to the greens. This means you will hit more greens and you will leave yourself shorter putts.

Imagine if you could hit just 3 more greens per round and leave yourself just 3 more chances for birdies from inside 10 feet. This is very possible when you always have an accurate yardage. When you use a Bushnell laser rangefinder you will know the exact yardage to any target on the course. This means if you are trying to lay up in front of a hazard you can do so by getting the yardage to the front of the hazard. Then, you will know how far you need to hit the golf ball to be in the proper position for your next shot. This will save you from hitting it too far and ending up in the hazard.

Most golfers think that they need new clubs or lessons to get better at the game. There are other ways to improve your game and if you start using the exact yardages you can get from a Bushnell laser rangefinder you will have a great chance to gain confidence in your game. You will start to learn what shots fit the right yardages and you can start playing more like a professional. You will know where you want to land the ball to give yourself the best chance to make the putt and get yourself more low scores when you play golf.

When To Use Your Rangefinder

A laser rangefinder seems to be a staple for just about every hunting pack these days. They are compact, easy to use, and can greatly improve a hunters accuracy by defining the distance of the shot the hunter is about to take. If you are anything like me, you watch the television hunting shows where the hunter is hidden and his quarry walks out and stops for him while he is able to use his rangefinder to calculate his perfect 127 yard, broadside shot. Also, if you are anything like me, you have found that for some reason you hardly ever have that luxury when you are out in the field.

I am not saying it does not happen, or it is trick photography, in fact I am sure it does work that way for some. For others, like myself, I have to use my rangefinder before I see an animal most of the time, because when I try to use it right before the shot, it is one more opportunity for the animal to spot me. Most of my hunting exploits are done from a ground blind, a tree stand, or a spot and stalk method. With these types of hunting I spend a lot of time getting used to my surroundings so I have an idea of where the animals may come from. In the process of studying my surroundings, I use my rangefinder to measure distances to certain trees, rocks, cow pies, or any number of objects that will allow me to have an idea of the different shots I may get. By using this method, should an animal suddenly appear and be walking directly into my shooting range, I do not have to make any unnecessary movements to prepare for my shot.

Of course, I cannot say that I do not have the urge to check it should I have the opportunity, but always make sure that when doing it, the movement of digging it out of your pocket and raising it to use is not spotted by your quarry. Another caution to be aware of, is that your excitement level when seeing your trophy gets so high that it is easy to range the distance and immediately get ready to shoot while accidentally just tossing your rangefinder aside, only to notice it missing two hours later when you get back to truck.

The lessons I have learned about when to use a rangefinder is that you can never use them too much in getting familiar with your surroundings. In fact, you will find that should you use your rangefinder in this manner, when that shot comes you will be just that much more confident in taking it. And as we all know, if we are confident, we are usually more accurate, which has been the goal since purchasing a rangefinder.

Callaway Rangefinder LR550 Review

Technically speaking, it is the budget model of the Callaway line of rangefinders, but it does not appear to lack much in terms of features. In fact, despite being scaled back in some functions, its low price tag has been found by the Callaway Rangefinder LR550 Review to address the constant complaint that the LR1200 model was too pricey to be worthwhile.

Despite being branded as a woman's sports model, the LR550 really has nothing gender-specific about it, and male golfers will no doubt appreciate all of its features as much as women would.

Small Reductions and Limitations

Of course, the Callaway Rangefinder LR550 review would be surprised if, at almost two hundred dollars less than the LR1200, it offered the exact same set of features. Instead, some areas do have reduced effectiveness and other limitations.

Most noticeably, is the range, where the LR550 offers a 550 yard top range as opposed to the 1,100 of the LR1200. Likewise, it also only has a 6x magnification capability that, while respectable, is not as good as the 7x which some other models offer.

Lastly, the 20-second scan mode of the LR1200 is only 8 seconds when tested in the Callaway Rangefinder LR550 review, which may or may not be a consideration depending on how one likes to use this rangefinder.

Offering Value for Money

When all is said and done, none of the limitations that were studied in the Callaway Rangefinder LR550 review limit it very much at all. For the sake of a much lower price tag, they are sacrifices that many feel are worth being made.

Still very much a part of the LR550 is the one touch controls, LCD backlight, and first target priority mode which can really ease picking out the flag amidst a background of trees. Admittedly, the LR550 does not measure distance as fast as the LR1200, but it isn't too slow that it would be tedious either.

Bottom line is, for a budget rangefinder, the Callaway Rangefinder LR550 review finds it to be extremely effective and priced attractively. Where the LR1200 sometimes drew criticism for being too expensive for the features that it offered, the LR550 gains praise for offering so many features at such a low price tag.

No shadow of a doubt about it, among the cheaper rangefinders that are available, the LR550 is markedly set apart by merit of its distinguished features.

Does a Golf Rangefinder Improve Your Handicap?

Golf, as every golfer knows, is a sport which requires a great deal of mental preparation, pin point accuracy, and precision around the golf course. These are the requirements that every golfer needs to excel at the game.

So if something comes along that will alleviate some of these problems for you and in-turn enhance your game then obviously you must consider it. That is where the golf rangefinder will come into the equation because it not only removes the yardage guessing game every golfer goes through when on the course but it will go a long way in helping you to reduce your handicap. By having a golf rangefinder as part of your golfing arsenal you will enjoy the best shot available to you irrespective of where you are on the course.

Golf range finders are intended to enhance your golf game simply by providing highly accurate yardage readings to physical objects around the golf course. The rangefinder emits a laser beam that will focus on an object and then the range finder appraises the distance in the time it will take for the laser beam to bounce back from the subject and return to the rangefinder. Basically what the golf rangefinder allows a golfer to do is accurately snipe their way to the hole.

The golf rangefinder presents the distance instantly and far quicker than if you use a GPS unit. The rangefinder uses a laser beam and the latest digital technology to measure out the yardage to any object. Many rangefinders also provide you spot-on distance even if the target is blocked by any debris (leaves) or any other hazard present on the golf courses.

Golf rangefinders are a necessary accessory for almost any serious golfer. A few of the improved rangefinders that are available will give you 1 yard exactness for approximately 1500 yards distance. There are a number of the new rangefinders that are almost as small as a new golf ball. They are also very easy to use and due to their small size you can keep them in your trouser pocket.

To make the decision on which is the best golf rangefinder for you, then you should consider your own playing level, whether you play regularly in tournaments or you just take the game as a leisurely pastime. Also you must compare the characteristics of all the available golf range finders and buy the best golf rangefinder that fits your playing level and of course the amount of money you can afford to spend.

Some of the golf rangefinders that are recommend are the Bushnell Medalist, the Bushnell Tour v2. The Leupold's gx-1 and gx-2 models and the SkyCaddie SG5 GPS come highly recommended.

If your pocket can afford it then the Bushnell 1500 Pinseeker with its integrated slope measurement technology is a really good rangefinder. And if you and your playing partners can come to terms with the USGA rule infraction, I advise you to get your hands on this beauty; especially if you like to visit a lot of different courses for the first time.

I can honestly say that I have improved my golf game since I purchase my Bushnell Pinseeker rangefinder. Not only did it help to shave strokes off my handicap but it made me the envy of my playing partners. In fact they started to rely on me to lend it to them so they could try to stop me winning all the time.

If you are serious about your golf game like I am then you should consider investing in a golf rangefinder. You will never regret making the decision; in fact you will wonder why you did not do it sooner!

So if you are serious about your golf game then one of the best ways to improve your handicap is make sure that you check out the golf rangefinders that are available at any golf store or even online. By having a golf rangefinder you will be all set to make the best shot possible. The only thing you will have to worry about then is whether you slice or hook.

Golf Rangefinders

Knowing the full distance to the pin, the carry over water, the width of the fairway to the nearest yard can provide serious practical help when it comes to making a club selection. With this information to hand, there's a real chance of lowering your score in medal play or taking strokes off your handicap.

Tour pro caddies have always kept extensive yardage information in their note books gleaned during practice rounds and they too can use the latest technology. So if its good for them it should be certainly considered as the next weapon in your golf equipment armory!

Typically a rangefinder will use an invisible Class 1 laser beam that is safe to the eye which is bounced off a target at the press of a button. The unit's internal digital clock then measure the time taken for the outward and return journey and immediately calculates the distance, which it then displays.

Targets can take many forms including the flag on top of the pin, to trees and other hazards. Now the major advantage of a rangefinder is that you can go to any course, any time, take the unit out of your bag and get measuring. Their disadvantage is the target has to be within line of sight. So it can't be used from the tee to a hidden green for example.

Golf GPS

In a similar vein to those used in cars, Golf GPS units work off Global Positioning System satellites which transmit information to ground equipment. These receivers passively collect information - they do not transmit any. Each satellite continuously transmits data about its current time and position. The lapse in the time taken for this information to be received from each satellite varies enabling the receiver to estimate, based on a minimum of four satellites, its position in three dimensions. For more technical information on these systems go to

To harness this wealth of data for golfers means that someone needs to identify grid references, at the very minimum, for the golf green. The unit then knows where you are and the distance to it. More sophisticated units can take in much more information such as the position of bunkers, water hazards and trees to mention but a few. Some even more sophisticated Golf GPS trace the green's perimeter enabling distances to be calculated from any approach angle.

One of the main advantages in this type of system is that you don't have to aim at the target to get a reading. Ideal where there is no line of site as a result of a hidden green, a dogleg or a stray drive in the woods! This aiming can be a rangefinders Achilles heel resulting from wobbles and the problems of very small targets, although better units have stabilising systems. But all GPSs have disadvantages too - someone has to survey the course first and you have to down load and possibly pay for it, although there are some units that you can program yourself but that in itself can waste valuable time. However this may not be such a problem if you only play a few courses.

Metrics Tool Review - Guide to Effective Measurement Processes

Companies are required to collect, analyze and report the data that they have gathered. Every single day, they will generate such from all of the departments in the organization. Before you buy any metrics tool, you should first read a metrics tool review so that you will fully understand the product that you want to purchase. There are many types of metrics from the key performance indicators and they are used according to the needs of the business that they will serve.

Being able to grab hold of a metrics tool comparison session will allow you to be acquainted with the features and the capabilities of the software when compared side by side with another. In addition, you will also learn about their limitations and weaknesses so that when you use them, you will already know how to deal with them. There are some metrics tools that offer many languages for the user. However, this feature is not really helpful especially when you and all of your employees speak English fluently. Therefore, you do not need to include a translator from the machine that you want to utilize.

One of the things that you have to look for is the user interface of the application. Bear in mind that not all of the people are technical gurus or are used to complicated systems. All of those who will use the application should understand how to operate, control and manage it. Otherwise, it will just sit on the computer and will not be employed at all. You will have to look for another metrics tool that is easier to work on. This means another expense for your company.

When you are looking for a metrics tool review, it should not be biased. Look for a well known reviewer or site that can provide you with all of the information that you need regarding the environment, design, model, security, function and the cost of the product. Understand what the metric system review wants to impart to its readers before you buy the tool.

When you already know what you are looking for and what you can expect from the application that you want to use, you can now purchase it. Here, you will know how to properly plan, organize, control and improve the transactions of your company. Bear in mind that a metric is used to quantify the characteristics of the product that you are selling or the processes involved in the company's service. There are metrics sets that allow you to track down the progress of the project as well as the software products and the processes of development within the company.

With these several advantages, you can instantly conclude that metrics tools will give you more benefits for your company than without having one. However, not all companies that use this can be successful in their venture. One of the reasons behind this is the fact that they did not read any metrics tool review. Always be updated and well informed about the software that you wish to buy so that you can make the most out of it in the future.

Blu-Ray Vs DVD

Technology, especially in electronics and disc technology is developing at a dazzling speed. Now we have Blu-rays with blue laser technology instead of red laser used for our DVD. It seems that the term 'DVD' standing for Digital Versatile Disc will be replaced by the term 'BD' standing for Blu-ray Disc. It has already begun entering our lives as well as our terminology.

When we take a look at its advantages, the storage capacity of this next-generation format BD is five times more than DVD format. The capacity of a single layer is 25GB and dual-layer has 50GB capacity. Blu-ray provides read-only (BD-ROM), recordable (BD-R) and rewritable (BD-RE) formats. A dual-layer can contain 9 hours of HD video. It supports all the codecs that DVD format supports and in addition, it supports Dolby True HD, DTS-HD and DTS Digital Surround audio codecs and MPEG-4AVC and SMPTE VC-1 video codes. The video bit rate is maximum 40.0 Mbps while DVD has only 9.8 Mbps video bit rate.

This technology is developed by a group of several huge companies such as Warner Bros, Walt Disney, Sony, LG, Dell and Apple. Many studios have begun releasing movies on BD and there are many more upcoming movies . The Blu-ray players are compatible with DVD and CD. The best thing about Blu-ray is that it supports HD (high-definition) video with high picture quality whereas DVD supports only SD (standard definition) as storage capacity of DVD is not sufficient for HD. Besides, it has a menu system that enables you to see anything in the menu while the movie is playing in the background. Also you can jump to any section on the BD easily. Another advantage of Blu-ray is its hard-coating. Unlike DVD, BD is scratch resistant.

Actually, HD-DVD is similar to BD, using blue laser technology. However, audio and video quality of BD is much more better. Also HD-DVD is not supported by most of the giants in the market. You will not be able to find the movies you would like to watch in the formats other than BD in near future. Hardware support of BD is also much more broader than HD-DVD.

Blu-ray will succeed the DVD format in a short time and DVD will lose its popularity as BD is supported by the leading movie studios and PC manufacturers. BD is the format of today but we do not know for how long and when it will be replaced with what. This market is full of competition and leading companies come out with something new everyday.

It is unavoidable to own Blu-ray players for watching new releases as it will not possible to find their DVD formats in near future. However, the Blu-ray movie prices are very affordable. You can find BD formats of your favorite movies starting from $6 - $7 up to $50 - $60 for the box sets and it is worth for its quality and new features.

What You Should Know Before Buying a Digital Camera

Digital cameras are a vast improvement over the regular cameras. Electronic sensors are used in digital cameras to store pictures on a memory card. These pictures can be uploaded to a computer by an USB cable. Some digital cameras can record sound and video also.

It is imperative to study the different types of digital cameras, their features and identify our objective before buying a digital camera.

Types of digital cameras:

Compact digital camera - These are "snapshot" cameras invariably small and compact in size. They lack sophisticated hardware. Images are stored in JPEG format. Compact digital cameras have a sharp focus and a built-in flash.

Bridge camera - These cameras form a "bridge" between the compact digital camera and the DSLR camera. They have small sensors but large zoom ranges. Bridge cameras have an LCD electronic screen which can take a live preview of the photo before clicking it. Bridge cameras employ either electronic viewfinders (EVF) or optical viewfinders (OVF). The quality of these viewfinders is undergoing sea improvement regarding their size, resolution, visibility, magnification and refresh rate.

Digital single-lens reflex camera - An automatic mirror system is used which displays the exact image. The absence of time lag in the image is a great advantage for taking photos where the subject is constantly on the move. There is an auto focus system and furthermore, the resolution is extremely good. The only disadvantage is the absence of a "live preview" in most DSLR cameras.

Digital rangefinder camera - This is a portable camera suitable for theatre photography, portrait photography, street photography and candid shots. A rangefinder is a range finding focusing accessory attached to a digital camera allowing a sharp focus. Wide-angle lenses are more often used in rangefinders. Filters which absorb much light or change the color of the image can be used in this camera.

Main features:

Resolution - About 2 - 3 mega pixel resolution is enough for a decent digital camera. Resolution is a measure of the number of pixels on the sensor that create the picture. It is an important factor for printing a larger image or cropping it. Usually, the higher the resolution, greater the cost.

Type of lens - A glass lens gives a better quality picture than a plastic one. Again, a zoom lens adds greater versatility.

Close-up mode - Many digital cameras have a special close-up mode which allows one to take close-ups of extremely small objects like jewelry and coins.

Manual mode - Modes of different types are there, which enhance the quality of photographs in a particular situation. Portrait, landscape and close-up are the special exposure modes. Shutter speed and lens opening can be maneuvered in the manual exposure mode. Burst mode allows a number of pictures to be taken in rapid succession. Different filters can be used to provide beautiful effects. Extra flash modes can also enhance the clarity of the picture.

ISO - This value normally varies between 100 and 400. A higher value indicates that more number of pictures can be taken in dim light.

Conclusion:

After going through the different types of digital cameras and their features, one should ask oneself about the objective of buying a digital camera. The type of photography, the experience level, weather conditions, the budget and portability are all factors which need to be taken into account before purchasing a digital camera. A higher mega pixel rating means a higher price. If large prints are not the criteria, then mega pixel rating around 4 should suffice. Lastly, reading reviews of the different digital cameras available for sale might just be the best option before purchasing an actual one.

Golf GPS or Laser Rangefinder?

Modern golfers are finding the need for high tech gadgets to speed up their golf rounds. We are a tech crazy culture, and golf has never been left behind. New high tech clubs and balls; and now high tech distance range finding equipment. It makes sense, we love golf, we love high tech, and we love to compete; golf rangefinders satisfy our desires.

While the above paragraph is written in a flip manner and we could, of course, do without such high tech equipment; these little devices do help the average player speed his game and shoot lower scores. And we golfers will do anything to shave a couple of strokes and get home to our family a half an hour early. So golfers are embracing the new laser range finders and the golf GPS units. Let's face it, pacing off yardage is time consuming and inaccurate. I am always amused when I am playing a new course with a local member and he tells you things like; this hole plays a little shorter than the marker says, or you may need more club than you think. Are any of these fairway markers ever right? And to be fair, I am never in the fairway, so my pacing back to the plaque is never correct. But these new devices are it! Absolutely it!

I played all of last year with a handheld golf GPS unit, and I was amazed. I was actually hitting greens and making pars and birdies. My handicap was reduced and I went from a somewhat deliberate player to a speedy pants. At the same time one of my buddies in the foursome got himself a laser rangefinder and he started to shoot lower scores and play faster too. I really love this game improvement. I have always been a kind of snooty nose about golf purity, but I like the results I am seeing with this technology. The golf GPS lets me glance down, see the yardage, pull a club and fire. My buddy with the laser range finder does the same, except he needs line of sight. If he is behind a hill he just pops on top of the hill, shoots the flag and then paces back to his ball. He is a perfectionist, I just want the front, back and center of the green, after that I can guess pretty close as to where the pin is. On the other hand, he can shoot bunkers from the tee, or in front of the green, whereas my inexpensive golf GPS only has certain points plotted. However, some of the more expensive golf GPS units will give you the distance to any place you can touch, but I will have to wait until next year to get one of those.

So my advice is to get one, you will love it. I like the golf GPS, but Bushnell makes a laser rangefinder with slope determination now, which is very cool. The slope feature lets you shoot an up-hill, or down-hill pin and will give you the effective yardage the hole will play, so you do not have to guess how much up-hill, or down-hill you are. On the GPS side, the new OnPar golf GPS will keep your score, measure your shots, and even give you club selections, all at a single touch. The best news is that you can save strokes and time with inexpensive units; you do not need to get all of the bells and whistles. I am a believer, golf GPS and golf laser rangefinders are here to stay.

Compare Golf GPS Models

Until fairly recently I did not know that one could even use a GPS to assist with playing golf. Once I found out though it became quite a task to compare the different golf GPS models.

Firstly let me say I think it is a brilliant idea for a number of reasons:

  1. It definitely helps speed up play. I found this to be especially true when I was a bit off line and could not see the green for trees that were in my way. A GPS tells you exactly how far you have to fly the ball to get to the green or your intended landing area.

  2. It gave me complete confidence knowing exactly what distance I had left either to the green or to hazards which I needed to avoid.

  3. I soon learned exactly how far I hit my clubs. This was quite a humbling experience at first because my male ego had to accept that I don't hit the ball as far as I thought I did.

  4. A lot of negative thought was removed from my mind when I knew exactly how far I needed to carry a shot and also exactly which club (when hit normally) would carry my ball the required distance. I could concentrate on accuracy alone.

  5. Even though I am often asked distances by the rest of the 4 ball I still have an advantage over them as they normally spend time comparing with the markers on the sprinkler heads - something I now totally ignore. If the advice is conflicting a little bit of doubt sets in and causes them to over or under club.

I digress, but those are some of the positives I have found since I have been using my Golf GPS.

Initially I wanted a GPS for golf just as a toy. I did think it would come in handy for those "away" games but not much use at my home course which I know like the back of my hand. I was wrong because it was extremely helpful on my home course and I shot my best round ever at the time. Coincidence? I think not as I have since beaten that score on no less than 6 occasions!

Once the decision was made to look into buying one I suddenly discovered that there was a lot to learn as there are a lot of different models out there all with different features:

  • Did I want a color screen?

  • Did I want to pay an annual subscription?

  • Did I want to map the courses myself?

  • What courses were available?

  • Where did I play most of my golf?

  • Is it legal to use a Golf GPS?

  • What and how many distance markers were available?

  • Could they keep my score and analyze my golf?

  • What didn't I know about these things?

  • Why did they vary in price from $150.00 to as much as $500.00?

  • How accurate were they? This is dependent on the number of satellite signals available to the particular unit - this was news to me.

In all honesty it was pretty confusing until I decided on a budget. That eliminated half the available models and meant I could compare apples with apples.

It took me a good couple of weeks to compare Golf GPS models and I eventually settled for an inexpensive model that is extremely accurate, keeps my score and analyzes my game and it fits in my pocket without losing the signals. I have unlimited courses to choose from, which is fantastic for the odd occasion that I travel, and I do not have to pay an annual fee.

If you are considering joining the happy brigand of Golf GPS uses make sure you do your homework - actually if you go for any of the top name brands you won't be too disappointed. Research and compare Golf GPS models. Do some in depth research and remember that like computers they are forever bringing out newer, better and cheaper models so if you don't want to spend too much first time out then don't.

Get cracking today and compare Golf GPS models so that you can buy this fantastic addition to your golf bag and really start giving it to your mates on Saturday. You will not be sorry.

Laser Rangefinder Buying Guides For Christmas

With Christmas looming right around the corner, you may be on the hunt for the right gift for that golfer or hunter on your gift giving list. These two groups of people are very difficult to buy for as they tend to be particular about what they purchase. We are here to help you sort through the noise and find the perfect laser rangefinder for you.

The first thing you should consider is how will the laser rangefinder be used? Is it going to be for golfing or hunting as each has their own specific set of needs and features and functions that will make it more attractive and useful to the end user.

  • If the rangefinder will be used for hunting then you will need one that has multiple priorities. A Priority 2 rangefinder is one that is designed to be used in the woods rather than on an open field like a golf course.

  • On the flip side, a golfer will need a Priority 1 rangefinder, which is designed to target objects in the open field.

  • A rangefinder for hunting will also include features like bullet arc, elevation adjustment and other hunting related features to help you calculate either bullet drift, drop or range distance for a bow hunter as well.

  • The rangefinder designed for the golfer will have features that are geared around elevation changes to help you determine the proper club selection to hit the shot just right. The Bushnell Pinseeker technology is one of the most desirable rangefinders for this type of user.

  • Another feature to consider for either type of rangefinder user is the size of the laser rangefinder. The best units are extremely small and compact and allow the user to tuck the rangefinder into a pocket and be able to grab and handle easily. One of my favorite rangefinders is about the size of a pocket of cigarettes and weighs slightly more. Lightweight and easy to handle and maneuver in a treestand or golf cart.

These are just a few of the things you should consider when purchasing a laser rangefinder but one of the best thing you can do is check out laser rangefinder reviews and read more about specific models so you can find the best laser rangefinder for the person you are buying one for. If that happens to be yourself, then so much the better. Make sure you get the right laser rangefinder for your needs.

Check out the website if you want to read more Rangefinder Reviews and find out more about my personal favorite rangefinder, the Leupold RX-1000 rangefinder. We can help you select the right rangefinder AND save you money doing it.

Helpful RCBS Reloading Supplies

If you already have a RCBS reloading press, you may wondering what else you might need to start handloading. Most RCBS reloading kits come with the most practical supplies, but there is other equipment available that can maximize your output. You should definitely inventory what RCBS reloading supplies you have and decide what other items might be useful to you.

The type of press you have will make a difference in what kinds of tools and supplies you may want to get. For example, if you are using a RCBS Pro 2000, you may also want to purchase the bullet feeder for loading pistol ammo. The feeder works with most, but not all RCBS reloading presses; however, there are a number of RCBS reloading supplies that are useful regardless of the type of machine you have.

First off, if you decide to change the caliber you use, you need to know what supplies are necessary for caliber conversions. Most RCBS reloading equipment makes these conversions easy, but there is still some work required. For example, you might want to invest in a die plate that you can load with dies for another caliber you use frequently. This makes the conversion process even easier.

In order to save time checking if your powder levels are just right, you can get a powder checker. Set up between the powder charging and bullet seating stations on a progressive press, the powder checker uses a probe rod to allow you to visually see that your case is properly charged with powder. The device will also let you know if no charge has been administered.

If your machine does not already come with a case cleaner, you may want to invest in one, especially if you are using used cases. Vibratory case cleaners work great for this. The cleaner vibrates your cases around so that they look shiny and new when you are ready to load them.

A case trimmer is also handy. A variety of trimmers are available, depending on your needs. With a trimmer like the Trim Pro, you can easily trim cases with a few turns of the handle. The Trim Pro's spring-loaded level shell holder eliminates muscle fatigue from tightening a T-bar. This is just one of the many case trimmers RCBS has to offer.

Another tool you may want is a primer tube. With the tube you can pick up and load your primers with relative ease. RCBS pick-up tubes come in large and small sizes based on what primers you are using and how many you want to pick up at once.

The primer tube works especially well with a primer tray, which can flip all of your primers anvil-side up at once. This makes it easier to pick up the primers with the primer tube.

Last, but not least, a bullet puller is essential to even the most experienced handloaders. With this tool you can recover all of your components from a poorly made round, eliminating excess waste and saving you money.

Regardless of what type of handloading you do or what type of RCBS reloading press you own, many of the tools listed above will be valuable to you. Some of these supplies will come with a RCBS reloading kit, so be sure you don't have a particular tool before you go out and buy it. Also, this is not an exhaustive list of equipment.

There are plenty more RCBS reloading supplies to be discovered, so be sure to do some browsing before make the final decision to buy.

If you're still not sure which RCBS Reloaders to get, then check RCBS Reloading dot net for cheap RCBS Reloaders.

Black Bears - Close Encounters

My grandfather served as a game warden in northern Pennsylvania during the 1930s to the 1950s. As a boy, I always enjoyed visiting him, because he had lots of stories to share with me and my brothers. We especially liked his stories about black bears.

One of his bear stories took place when the black bear hunting season was still a month away. He was walking through the woods when he ran across a bear wallow on a flattop ridge. He told me he had often heard of black bear wallows, but he had never seen one before. A big tree had blown down, and when the roots tilted up they had carried with them all the topsoil right down to the clay. This depression had filled with rainwater, and it made a perfect wallow, complete with muddy water. Muddy paths radiated from the wallow like spokes of a wheel in every direction. My grandfather figured that a good many black bears were making use of it. I guess bears have fleas and ticks to contend with, and apparently they use these wallows for the same reason birds take dust baths.

My grandfather said that cubs apparently don't like baths any better than we boys did. So while their mothers were soaking in the water, the black bear cubs amused themselves by climbing the hemlock trees nearby and cutting off the tips of the branches. He said that the ground under several trees was almost completely covered with these hemlock tips. The outer bark of the trees was so worn by the constant climbing up and down that the trees actually appeared a lighter brown than the other trees. I guess there must have been a lot of cubs! Neither my grandfather or I have ever figured out why the cubs wanted to cut off the branches.

Finding a Bear's Den

Speaking of those branches reminds me of my grandfather's story about a hemlock thicket he once came across. He was actually out hunting bobcats when he found it. It was a dense thicket about eight or ten feet high, and he said that the inside was like an empty room. The tops were so thick the snow didn't penetrate them, and a black bear had decided to make it his winter home. He had made a nest that was a masterpiece. The bear had cut off the tips of hemlocks, just as the cubs had, and he had made a perfect oval rug about four or five inches thick. My grandfather said that the the little green hemlock tips were packed close together with the stems down. As a result, the edges were as trim as a braided rug. Grandfather said it was hard for him to believe it could have been made by a black bear. He said it was just another one of nature's wonders!

How to Observe Wildlife

I once asked my grandfather how he was able to see so many wild animals. He said that if you really want to know what goes on in the woods, you need to lie down, put something over your face, and lie still. That's because it's your face that scares animals. Grandfather told me that once, with nothing but some grass tucked under his cap and hanging down over his face, he had observed a number of grouse feeding all around him. Eventually, they all lined up on a log six feet away from him, preening their feathers, and "talking" over the day's events. At one point, they became nervous at that thing they couldn't identify (my grandfather), but he kept perfectly still. So they settled down and resumed their grooming. Another time, my grandfather said that a weasel who was chasing a chipmunk jumped on his shoulder and ran the whole length of his body.

On his website, the author shares more of his grandfather's black bear stories. For tips on stalking black bears, please read his free report on black bear hunting.

Golf Tips for Nasty Swingers

Most golfers have difficulty executing a good golf swing. If you are one of those that belong to the 99.9% that makes nasty swings, I offer you some golf tips, as there are a number of possible reasons for this.

To help you remedy some of these problems, this article offers some golf tips for specific difficulties experienced by novice and average players.

However, what if you are playing a lot but cannot improve your strokes or hits? Take this golf tip, it is best for you to go back to the fundamentals of the sport. Most problems start from improper stance and grip. Identify the strokes that cause you the most problems and focus on improving those strokes. Check your tempo. A good golfer has proper coordination of the moving parts of the body. Speed and timing are also important factors for a good shot. See to it that you are not too anxious while hitting the ball. When you miss, then try again, this time relax yourself.

Once your stance, grip, and timing are corrected, you will see an improvement in your golf swing. In addition to the above, other factors need to be considered and corrected to improve your golf swing.

One of the scariest problems in golf is when the ball crazily turns to either the right or left. This is due to misalignment in the body and the swing plane. To alleviate this problem, do not stand to too close to the ball and shift your weight on your heels.

When hitting the ball, avoid swaying your body. Any unnecessary movements may result to incorrect shots. It is but natural to move your body during stroking, but minimize side-to-side movements. Keep your feet together while hitting the ball as this will minimize body movement.

Also, consciously shift your weight, trying to keep your weight in your heels. Keep a constant pace on hitting the ball, don't decelerate as you make the down swing. Be wary of hitting the ground before the ball, this is called "fat shots" that may lead to injuries.

Do you have bad games because you often push or pull the ball? Then check the distance of the ball and your stance. Make sure that your body is parallel to the target line. For pulling shots, ensure your self of enough coils while making your back swing.

Avoid looking up while hitting the ball, again focus on your hit. See to it that you do not take your eyes away from the ball until it disappears after a shot. Do not be anxious as to where your ball will go. Many golfers say that this is their number one mistake.

Other golf tips are:

· Learn to relax your body, and always make a full turn. Do not swing at the ball, swing through it.

· Too steep a swing path may often smash you tees into the ground. Do not allow your hands to get far ahead of the club head when attempting to make a hit. Also, make your shallow swing constant and back swing, shallow.

The game of golf can be an enjoyable sport for the whole family. With a bit of practice and patience anyone can learn the game.

Check Out Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder for $218.49

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Review

The rangefinder has really helped me with my course management. I have an excellent GPS program on my smartphone, but the rangefinder is helpful for hitting to specific targets. I also use it out on the driving range because the tee boxes at my range are constantly moved back and forth (grass range), so I need the rangefinder to help me figure out my distances.

I find that it is relatively easy to use if you have steady hands. It may take more than one try to get an accurate read, but it only takes a couple seconds to measure a target.

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Feature

  • Laser rangefinder with built-in PinSeeker technology for determining golf ranges
  • Calculates distance to pin or objects on the course within plus-or-minus 1 meter
  • Easy-to-read, in-view LCD display shows range in your choice of yards or meters
  • 4x magnification and 20mm objective diameter; offers range of 5 to 1,000 yards
  • Measures 4.5 x 1.7 x 3.8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 9 ounces; 2-year warranty

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Overview

EVERY GOLFER WANTS SPIN, DISTANCE AND PINSEEKER. With its sleek horizontal profile the Medalist is about two things: Lower scores and PinSeeker technology. Quick and natural to the eye, the Medalist acquires flags tucked in the deepest corners of the green despite background clutter that befuddles lesser rangefinders. Wherever evil lurks anywhere on the course, the Medalist with PinSeeker provides you with the information you want, to make the shot you need.

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder Specifications

Compact in size but loaded with powerful rangefinding features, the Bushnell Medalist sets a new standard in a complete rangefinder package. Like its predecessor--the PinSeeker 1500--the Medalist is equipped with PinSeeker technology to combine pinpoint accuracy and consistency enabling you to range up to 250 yards (±1 yard) to the flag without the use of reflectors.

Designed exclusively with the bottom of the cup in mind, Bushnell's Pinseeker mode allows easy acquisition of the flag without inadvertently capturing background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD screen.

Powered by a 9-volt battery, the lightweight Medalist boasts a 4x magnification and features a rubber armoring, making it easy to grip. It also comes with a premium carrying case. Weighing just 9 ounces, the Medalist measures 1.7 x 4.5 x 3.8 inches in size and is ready to be used right out-of-the-box, allowing it to be played at 100 percent of the courses around the world. The Medalist is legal for tournament play and for posting of scores for handicap purposes. Other features include distance readings in both yards and meters and standard SCAN mode.

Targeting Modes

  • SCAN: Allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan.
  • Rain: Compensates for precipitation to guarantee an accurate distance measurement through rain or snow.
  • Reflector: Increases the maximum measurement range for most highly reflective objects.
  • Pinseeker

Specifications

  • Magnification: 4x
  • Objective lens: 20mm
  • Range: 5 to 1000 yards
  • Battery type: 9 volt
  • Weight: 9 ounces
  • Dimensions: 1.7 x 4.5 x 3.8 inches

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

I like this product very much. The design is compact and very easy to use. However, I don't like the way amazon did. I have paid full price to buy a new one, it seems they sent me the one someone used. The handle strip is broken, the body seems cleaned up. I wanted to return it to amazon, but I thought it might be sent to someone else if I return it. Eventually, I didn't return it.

This is nice, an does work alright. The units that have 7x magnification are much easier/quicker to use.

Golf Laser Rangefinder Reviews - How to Choose the Best Golf Laser Rangefinder

Golf laser rangefinders allow the user to look through a viewfinder to aim at a flagstick or other target, push a button and obtain highly accurate distance information to the target.  Some devices will even adjust the distance reading based on the slope between the user and the target, the temperature, or the altitude.  Still, there are a number of questions surrounding the devices and their use.  CriticalGolf.com offers you these insights on golf laser rangefinders and how to choose one.

Are They Legal?

With the USGA's ruling in Decision 14-3/0.5, laser rangefinders that measure distance only (as opposed to other conditions such as the slope of the ground, temperature, altitude or otherwise) may now be permitted by a Local Rule.  Most courses have adopted such a rule, but if you are competing in a tournament, you should check to see if a laser rangefinder (or for that matter, a golf GPS device) may be used.  Note that the USGA Handicap system requires players to post scores when a device (that measures distance only) has been used, regardless of whether or not a Local Rule has been permitted allowing the use of the device (Rule 14-3 and Decision 5-1f/2 of "The USGA Handicap System" manual).

Devices that adjust for slope (or temperature or altitude) cannot be used in a tournament or in round that is posted to your handicap.  They are, however, extremely useful practice devices to learn how much the slope (uphill or downill) between the user and the target affects the distance a ball will travel.

What are the Advantages of Laser Rangefinders Over Golf GPS Devices?

Laser rangefinders provide a distinct set of advantages and disadvantages when compared to golf GPS devices.  The pros and cons include:

Pros of Laser Rangefinders

  • Most accurate method (+/- 1 yard)

  • Ability to get precise distance to the pin, false fronts or different tiers on the green

  • Provides distance reading to any point on the hole (provided an unobstructed view is available)

  • No additional fees beyond purchase price

  • Some units provide the slope from the player to the target (not permitted in tournament play)

Cons of Laser Rangefinders

  • Need a clear line-of-sight to the target to obtain distance - if you have a blind approach, you are out of luck

  • Readings will be impacted by fog, rain (including sprinklers on the course) and extreme light conditions during the day and at dusk - any factor that degrades the overall air clarity

  • A steady hand may be required to get accurate readings

How Should I Evaluate a Golf Laser Rangefinder?

Golf laser rangefinders can provide highly accurate distances, and quickly become an invaluable tool to their users.  But how can you choose between different makes and models?

Criticalgolf.com evaluates golf laser rangefinders based on 5 categories:

  1. Accuracy:  The most accurate laser rangefinder readings are obtained when targeting highly reflective objects with bright colors under moderate daylight (overcast days are best). Larger targets, and ones that create a 90 degree angle to the line of sight, will receive the best readings.   But almost all laser rangefinders provided an extremely precise level of accuracy.  Where they often differed was in how easy it is for the user to "lock on" to a target, something which is covered in "Ease of Obtaining Readings" below.

  2. Ease of Use:  How easy is it to locate targets, read the yardages and graphics on the screen, and navigate between different modes?

  3. Features:  Laser rangefinders all offer the ability to provide line-of-sight distance to targets, but vary in how the user interacts with the device to get the distance reading and the different ways to take readings (such as scanning a course or focusing on a flagstick).  Most laser rangefinders offer a "pin-locating" mode.  When such a mode is engaged, if the device detects multiple objects when the laser is fired, it will provide the distance to the closest object. As a result, if the user is targeting a flagstick in front of a grove of trees, a "pin-locating" mode should help the device return the distance to the flagstick, which is closer. In addition, laser rangefinders that provide slope information vary widely in terms of features, ranging from the bare minimum of providing adjusted distances based on the degree of incline/decline to more advanced units that provide advice on what club to hit based on not just the incline/decline, but factoring in the altitude and air temperature.

  4. Ease of Obtaining Readings: Some of the ways in which laser rangefinders differ include:  how the user activates the device to receive distance readings (do you press-and-hold a button, press-and-release, etc.), the magnification of the viewfinder (which impacts how easy it is to pick out a target at a distance), weight and how the device is designed to be held (with two hands or one hand).  All of these factors can impact how easy it is for the user to obtain a reading. We tested each device at different distances, and with different color flags, to determine if certain units stood out (both good and bad).

  5. Cost/Value: Price alone isn't an indicator of value - does the device provide good bang for the buck?

Where Can I Find Reviews of Golf Laser Rangefinders?
We're biased, but we would suggest going to http://criticalgolf.com to see reviews of Bushnell, Callaway/Nikon, Leupold and Opti-Logic devices. There are also a number of forums like GolfWRX.com where individual users post their experiences with specific devices.

Bushnell Medalist Laser Rangefinder

I purchased the Bushnell Medalist Pinseeker and love it! It is nice and light, uses a single 9 volt battery, which is nice. No charger required so I will just keep a spare battery in my bag. So simple to use, press the power button center the circle on your target and press the button for a second and bam you have your yardage. I currently have a Sky Caddie 2.5 GPS rangefinder and had an earlier model before. The nice part about the Bushnell rangefinder is that you can target in anything on the course not just the yardages that Sky Caddie has entered, you don't have to connect to a pc and download course info and of course there is no annual fee. If you don't mind those things and like a small gps that you can wear on your belt get a Sky Caddie, if you do, get yourself a Bushnell Medalist!

Check Out Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 Laser Rangefinder (clam) for $137.98

Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 Laser Rangefinder (clam) Review

For what this item is and for what it does, it's just fine. I use it when working as a Stereographer to determine the distances of fairly close objects that are just a bit too distant to tape measure.

One thing, though: The word "clam" in the description does NOT refer to the unit's color. The unit is NOT green like the one depicted in the illustration. It is a black unit. The word "clam" in the item description refers to the annoying clear plastic "clam-shell" packaging the rangefinder is contained within.

BTW, do not buy the extra case. You get a free case with the unit.

The strap that comes with the rangefinder is useless. There are no directions on how to attach it and there is no obviously logical way to determine how to do so. Fortunately, I had a different strap from a recent convention badge that worked beautifully.

Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 Laser Rangefinder (clam) Feature

  • Compact design
  • Weather resistant
  • Textured grip
  • 5-yard minimum distance
  • One-button operation

Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport 450 Laser Rangefinder (clam) Overview

Let it hinge on a guess, or nail it with this. The shot of a lifetime is a time for certainty. With the Yardage Pro Sport 450, you're confident to the last yard. It's affordable, simple to use and features a slim, weather-resistant design that's handy in a pinch. Now, jerky or sausage?

Great for Golf - Robert J. Gagliano - USA
I used a friend's today on the golf course and it worked well. Contrary to one other review on this site, it works fine from 200 yards. Easy to use and much better than many others I have tried on the golf course. I was sold the first time I used it. It is very accurate as well. Great product for a reasonable price. The size and weight are just right for the golf course.

Range finder - Dr Paul -
Great price and great value. It works very well, easy to use and accurate...Better then others that i have tried.

Bushnell Range Finder - Jim -
I ordered this product to measure distances between utility poles. We typically measure these distances with a "Wheel". However, the poles were not on level paved ground rather they were set across country over hills and valleys. The Range Finders proved to be a time saving and accurate tool. We will continue to use these as our measuring tool for all future jobs.

I orderd the product to be delivered overnight and I received them (3) the next day.
